Safety confirmation is a valuable service that your organisation can offer to its customers by using Pellonia. It can help people irrespective of whether they already have a pendant alarm and offers you a number of new opportunities.

It is a powerful extension to traditional reassurance calls but operates at a fraction of the cost. It actively confirms the safety of customers one or more times a day and puts the customer in control over the amount of contact they want to receive.

It is a false assumption that everyone wants human contact all the time. Many people just want a safety net, someone to know they are safe. Safety confirmation offers this and allows the customer to constantly vary and choose the level of contact they want. It is therefore well suited to a wide range of people.

Surveys of pendant alarm users suggest as many as 50% do not wear their pendants indicating that additional use of safety confirmation may be of great value. Furthermore only safety confirmation actively confirms the well being of a customer.

How it works

Your customers typically check-in using a telephone with an 'I'm okay' button on it (which we can supply) to confirm that they are up and about in the morning or home safely at night. They can also check-in from a regular telephone or we can create a system to suit your needs.

If they do not check-in by a chosen time a reassurance call is made to them. If they are unavailable you would typically notify one or more nominated contacts. This process not only actively confirms the well being of customers but also puts them in control of the amount of contact they would like. Many safety confirmation customers prefer very little contact.

Pellonia provides unparalleled flexibility in terms of when your customers can and should check-in and the conditions under which an alert condition is raised. Pellonia can even remind your customers to check-in with automated phone calls, text messages and emails. Pellonia can store details of several emergency contacts to be notified in the event of an alert condition these can be contacted by real operators and also by automated phone calls, texts and emails.

Signalling telephony costs met by us

When customers check-in using a safety confirmation telephone the signal is typically presented to Pellonia over freephone telephony routes. This is to ensure there is no additional telephony cost for an end-customer when they check-in. We absorb the costs of that signalling as part of our provision of the platform. We also absorb the costs of the telephony lines and their management, saving you time and money.

Every few months there is a high profile story involving an older person living alone who has died and not been found for several days. There is sometimes some doubt as to whether that person might have lived had help come sooner.
